Lil Durk trial: New footage of King Von death presented in court

Lil Durk + King Von

New surveillance footage of rapper King Von’s 2020 killing was shown in court during the ongoing murder-for-hire trial of rapper Lil Durk, according to reports from courtroom coverage.

The trial is taking place in Los Angeles and entered its second day on Tuesday. A commentator present in court, Trap Lore Ross, shared details of the footage, saying it showed extended and clearer angles of the incident than what had previously been publicly available.

According to the report, the video appears to show the confrontation involving King Von, Quando Rondo, and Lul Timm in greater detail. It is also claimed that the footage captures the moments leading up to the shooting that resulted in King Von’s death.

The footage has not been released publicly, and its contents have only been described by individuals present in the courtroom.

Reports also suggest the video shows King Von initiating physical contact during the altercation, which escalated quickly before gunfire broke out.

King Von was killed in November 2020 during an incident in Atlanta. At the time, conflicting claims circulated online about how the shooting unfolded, including speculation about police involvement. The courtroom account described the new footage as challenging some of those theories.

The trial of Lil Durk centres on allegations that he ordered a retaliatory attack on Quando Rondo following King Von’s death. Prosecutors allege the plan was connected to ongoing disputes between the two groups. Durk has denied the allegations.

Another defendant, OTF Vonni, has pleaded guilty to involvement in the alleged plot, according to court reports, though he has reportedly claimed he acted on instructions from Durk. The defence has disputed these claims.

The trial is expected to continue later this week.
